What is a fair price for skim coating a room?
I have a room 25' X 12' that I want to have a professional come in and skim coat. Despite the size of the room, there is not much wall space. There is a large double door opening, two regular size doors, seven windows and a double closet that will not need skim coating. Can anyone tell me a good price for this job or what I should look for getting estimates?
I do this quite often in my job prep for walls. I charge $25/hr. plus the cost of the joint compound. How long it takes depends on what you are going over....... is it a heavy texture, light texture? And also depends on how smooth you want the final skim coat finish to be. Does it have to be perfectly smooth?
