Where can I buy a base so i can make a patio dining table top?
I want to create a mosaic or tile table top for the pation and would love to find out where to purchase a metal decorative base. Mostly all I've found so far are standard, ugly metal ones that are more commercial-like. Thanks for your help
Make it yourself out of wood. Here's an idea I have done myself. Find a larger tree root/trunk, one that has dried out. Cut the roots so they are even/flush, and then de-bark the whole thing using scrapers or spokeshaves, or even drawplanes. I know, you don't have these, but they are fabulous, old-fasioned tools, and just the trick.
You'll end up with a very cool table stand, unique, and it will hold up if you put some Thompsons on it.
For the mosaic top, if you are in an area with freezing weather, watch out. If water gets in, it will break up. Research this more, if so.
