I use treated wood or treated wood for my patio?
The people at the lumber yard said people often use untreated Douglas fir to patios outdoors. I'm wondering why you should not use treated wood more durable.
I live in East Texas and all built patios this region are built with treated wood or composite materials. If not treated promptly wood rot in our climate. Recently they have changed the chemical process and treatment is no longer a problem before and do not pass anything - including your skin. But neither in the wood would be preserved with an exterior grade stain and sealer.
