Two People Yard
I have two medium size dogs that bark at people walking by the fence. How do I train them to stop?
My dogs won't leave the yard if the gate is left open. It seems they just like to bark. One is a Rat Terrier and the other is a Jack Russell/Schnauzer mix. They seem to keep each other barking especially the JR/S mix. They have never bit anyone and listen to me in any other situation. Please Help.
They are working as a team, that's for sure. It's a lot of fun to bark at people through a fence. The problem is, any correction could cause aggression and frustration. The best thing you can do is tire them out (run them, walk them, whatever) every day and only put them back there when they are dead tired and will respond if you try to get their attention. Don't leave them out there with nothing to do, they WILL bark bark bark all day long.
