I have an antique table that was damaged in a water loss and the ins adjuster doesnt think it is worth?
I need some type of reference to get a value of the damaged property.
I have photos if it will help. it is a rectangular mahogany end table, part of a set. with Metal claw foot covers over wood.
You'll need to scour the internet for tables similar (as similar as possible) to yours and see what the market value is or what they are selling them for. Usually if you can provide a couple of comparables, they will have to abide by that value & price accordingly, but realize that insurance companies are used to people jacking up the value of their belongings due to sentimental reasons and not necessarily actual value. This is why you need to provide proof somehow as pricing antiques is very complicated. No 2 pieces are ever identical and unless it was professionally appraised it's going to be difficult to establish a fair value otherwise. Having pictures of it is good - at least it shows what it looked like prior to the water damage (hopefully).
