Does anyone know if Silver Lace Vine filtered bloom well in deep shade?
I have read several things, says it needs full sun, others say that the sun part shade, and a couple have said sun shade. So I'm confused as to how they would do so under the covers of trees in filtered light. Anyone have any experience with this or know for sure? Thanks for your answers! Also, if I can not wait to plant these vines along a fence back of a property to provide a screen, the distance that should separate space?
Aubertii Polygonum - Silver Lace Vine you are proposing is a non - very distant relative Knotweed Polygonum cuspidatum - Japanese. The fact that the silver lace vine can grow and produce white flowers in the shade that makes planting a temptation for gardeners not blessed with a sunny spot. But I resist the temptation to cultivate this invasive species ... I have two clients who were tempted, and have regretted that since then .... To answer your question, yes it will grow and thrive in the dappled shade - but it may take more than its plot.
