Download speeds are slow, cannot figure out what is wrong.?
Any time a download something (a torrent for example) I have the pleasure of watching my download speeds start at 100kb a second and drop down to zero, and will usually stick there. For instance, When I tried AA a while back th Deploy Client just suddenly dropped to zero and stuck there. Its not my internet connection, and my firewall is set to allow whatever programs im using through, and my anti virus isnt blocking it. Whats going on?
This might not help, but it sure helped me.
I bought a surge protector to prevent my computer from getting damaged by a power surge. The surge protector also had a slot for plugging in the phone cable (for DSL or dial up connections) so I ran my telephone cable through there. Once my internet slowed down to a crawl, I tried many things to help, only one thing worked: Running a direct connection from the Modem to the Wall.
The chances are that this won't help you, but I hope this gives you a sense that it could be anything at any point along the internet.
