hard wood garden furniture ... treatment?
I recently purchased a color beech hardwood patio furniture set ... was expensive, but it I bought, as I liked the color of the wood. my husband (when he was) treated with '.. teak oil and has completely changed the color ... and now I hate ... you can imagine .. we exchanged a few words? my husband said it was the right way to treat wood ... and must be treated. Does anyone know if this is true ... supposed To cover the wooden outdoor teak oil? thanks for any serious response. ps he told me to ask on Yahoo ... to prove he's right!
As a member of your gender, sorry to say that is wrong! Teak oil is a darker color than beech wood, therefore, it is clear that darkens the color of the "wood beech color. "To better preserve the appearance of light colored wood, I recommend a water clear exterior varnish. There are many brands on the market these days, its hardware will advise local. The oils are good for wood, but usually obscure the original color, with the added disadvantage of not seal the wood staining almost anything else. Try to wash off with caustic soda and bleach to get the original color back. (Well, do it for recovering the relationship. Hehehe)
