I am having a wedding at my home, and I need some ideas for shade...anyone?
I am having a wedding at home. It will be in late July, and in the evening. I still need a tent or awning of some sort. I budgeted $400 for rentals. The prices I have been getting are around $750 just for a tent to cover my guests....That leaves me over budget and nothing left for table, chair and linen rentals....I wanted to try to make a makeshift cover of some sort....Draped clothe, what ever, anyone have any experience with a similar structure, or a idea of some sort? I am at a loss....
I recently found out that I will be able to get the tables and chairs gifted from a friend of mine, there facility...but still the tent is $750 regardless of table rentals etc.

Walmart, or any store that sells outdoor stuff, like camping gear, will have this...
tarps...huge tarps to cover your back yard with...the only thing is you are going to need rope and maybe some trees or poles to tie it up. you can get about 3 of them for a good price and still be under $100.
for the linen...why linen...since your going to be outside, get the plastic covers...they have them in different colors to match anything. easy to clean if there is a spill and not expensive at all. Check the dollar store for it or walmart, k-mart, even target...they will be long enough to cover the tables with no problem.
try having the wedding later in the afternoon...that way it's not so hot out. and when they go on sale...get the tiki lamps...now since winter is coming soon, they will go on sale...girl go to walmart...online as well or k-mart and target. Even the dollar store...they will be your best friends for this wedding.
for my brother's wedding...we went to the dollar store and got the table covers...25 covers for $25...($.99 cents each.) and they worked great...three colors...a white one and a green one on top and red...very pretty when it was done. don't forget the food set up...you can find everything you need there at the dollar store. if possible have the family cook and do an open buffet style...it will save you money in the long run.
