Advertising project, help?
For my product design class we made adirondack chairs, and now we have to "advertise them". We have to make a commercial (its not real), and its 30 seconds per person, and our group has four people, so two minutes.
Does anyone have any ideas on what we could do for a school appropriate commercial for an adirondack chair?
We have video editing stuff & a green screen
With any product you need to show the product in use.
So do a commercial that shows people, sitting, talking, having a good time, sleeping, standing etc. in those chairs.
Try to have some fun with it; and show people have a good time. An effective way to highlight the product is to stage it properly - that is center stage, well lit, painted maybe to stand out (or have your 'actors' dress in background neutrals) - your focus is on the chair(s).
Make sure you write a script before you start filming - find ways to insert the words 'adirondack chair' (or your brand name) into your conversation.
You can storyboard the video first - that is, take digital pictures of your chairs and 'actors' - a step by step story of the advertisement - and lay those pictures out in order. Film from that. Storyboarding helps you to find what works and what doesn't - plus it gets all of your group involved.
