Venice
The streets were alive with people. Lanterns hung from the narrow alleyways and illuminated the darkness; fireworks lit up the night sky, shadows were dancing along the walls of the city the light shone upon the rivers reflecting upon the hulls of the gondolas cruising along the shallow canals. The people were adorned in colourful garments; they wore porcelain masks ornately gilded around the ridges of the plate. It was the night of the Carnevale di Venezia 1500.
What do you think? Is their anything to add, i'm trying to make it longer
I'm not sure I would say "streets" as there are practically only alleys in Venice.
If you are trying to make it longer, what about a description of the noise and the smells of the place?
