i have a room that is 22x20.i am having crown molding put in and a 4x8 wall added.plus i have a wall that is 20ft long that needs new sheetrock added.lus i am having the ceiling texture scraped and finished smoothly.i am also having two collumns put in the room made of fiberglass resin.they are gonna be cut to become corner caps on the ends of my walls.and my trim on six upstairs windows is being replaced on the outside and also some fascia trim replaced due to water rot.how much should i expect to be charged for this type of work? thanx
i live in the mid-west.
just the 22x20 ceiling is being scraped and refinished to smooth texture.
i am paying for all the materials and would like a rough estamite for the labor.thanx again yawl
Here's some numbers that should give you a ballpark idea, however, as the others have said, it depends on where you live & what problems might be encountered completing the work:
Scrape ceiling$175 - $275 (lot)
Re-texture ceiling$300 - $375 (lot)
Prime & paint ceiling$1.15 - $1.55 per square foot
Install crown molding$275 - $350 (84')
Prime & paint crown$1.35 - $1.85 per linear foot
Build & sheetrock wall$250 - $350 4’x8’
Prime & paint wall$1.15 - $1.55 per square foot
Install base molding$4.25 - $5.10 per linear foot
Prime & paint base molding$1.25 - $1.85 per linear foot
Columns (incl. Capitals & Bases)$125 - $160 each
Prime & paint columns$1.91 - $2.85 per linear foot
Install/repair sheetrock$1.80 - $2.75 per square foot
Prime & paint repaired sheetrock$1.15 - $1.55 per square foot
Remove rotted fascia$0.55 per linear foot
Install new fascia$2.85 - $3.75 per linear foot
Prime & paint fascia$1.65 – 2.35 per linear foot
The above include labor & materials...painting includes priming & 2 coats of finish paint. Column installation includes capitals, bases, cutting & installing.
It might be wise to order your columns pre-cut as on-site cutting can be difficult. Also, columns usually are sized 6" and up...sheetrock walls are normally 5" thick. The walls that will have the column end-caps may need to have an 5/8" thickness added to each wall side.
If furniture is to be moved, additional costs of $100-$300 may be charged.
Good luck...
