Big Bang alternative - does this make sense?
Hypothesis: our universe is the result of the interaction between two (or more) membranes (from string theory).
Instead of our universe starting from a single point, it originated from the area of interaction with part of one or maybe the whole membrane entering the other - our universe being the condensate. Analog would be a drop of one solution entering another and forming condensate + diffusing with time.
In the "drop" membrane, all matter is connected and that relationship continues hence the instantaneous "speed" of gravity + dark matter is just the connecting fibers between all matter.
Instead of dark energy causing the expansion, simple entropy and diffusion of one substance into another.
Information horizion addressed because the "drop" was relatively large so time and speed of light remain constant.
Does this make any sense and/or has this been considered and dismissed? I can't be the first to think of it.

it does make sense though (in my humble opinion) needs a bit more work, good basic theory nevertheless.
i don't know whether it's based on m-theory as was previously said, not my field.
what i can say, and i've said it to myself numerous times, is that you may very well be the first person to come up with a new idea, somebody has to be the first, maybe you're it.
keep thinking 
(i've been trying to come up with a solution to what the "fabric" of space is for years, doesn't help me get to sleep)
