monitoring issue.?
Is there some sort of device that can be placed, which coincides with the landscape, and you can see the movement in an area configuration. something like a "rock" with a camera inside and perhaps solar energy. seems like it could be good to put in afghanastan in border areas for monitoring. perhaps sensitive to movement.
It's not really cost effective to install monitoring equipment as in a larger area to "police" the area - especially given that anything can be electronic and will eventually fail and require maintenance, so that people would have to be sent to maintain it. Now, that said, there are many ways to observe the movement of an area. The easiest way right now is probably the use satellite images. Why install a lot of devices if you can see in an entire area of space, expand and take pictures? If an observation is required closer examination, also has unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) that can be flown using a remote control and send a live image feed in the area. If you need more flexible "in the eyes", you always have LRS (long range surveillance) that can be effective inserted behind enemy lines or forward deployed an area. However, that said, the military has previously deployed a number of different devices. In Vietnam, a sensor that uses sound ground motion is detected, or infrared emissions.
