how to work my salt water wet dry filter !!!?
I have a TOM PRO SERIES FILTER witch is a ps4 and its has 3 layer filtration with a protein skimmer and and pump and a overflow box included pretty much everything ready to go on my 90 gallon saltwater ..... now the problem is that if by any chance i want shut off the equipment how can I stop it some over flooding the filter because I was going to mover the filter and I had to unplug it and for some reason the filter box was flooding is there a way to prevent that !!!
I'm not sure how that specific model is set up, but in general, you need to remove the overflow box from the tank, as well as the plumbing going from the wet/dry. Its easiest if you have the overflow box set up so that if the water level drops, it will shut off automatically. If the return back to the tank is near the surface, as in a spray bar, then it should automatically break the siphon when the water level drops. If the plumbing goes down to lower levels of the tank, you will have to drill a hole in the piping just below the water's surface, so the siphon is broken when the water level drops. The basic idea is to have the siphon break when needed automatically. You should do this anyway, in case of a power outage.
