Can I use the media final polishing of the rocks in brass cartridges?
I have a lot of rock grinding media that I received a garage sale, I put some of the white end (I think titanium oxide?) media in the polishing with crushed walnut shells to metal polish before reloading?
I am an instructor in charge. As tempting as it seems - should not do this. If copper is so ugly that you are considering this - my recommendation is to go to a drum or drum to take better care of their bronze. Tumbers more bronze drum are assigned more active in cleaning the vessels of brass standard vibration, and get assigned the copper contact. They treated nutshell - green and red - with a little polish on them. The main reasons for this - the waste left over from media fall into the housing may react with or neutralize the powder primer. If it reacts with the dust - is a crap shoot if he will make the powder charge more powerful or less powerful. There is no saying what the long-term effect would ......... but nobody else does, my guess is the long term effect is quite bad. State armories around United are decorated with ruffles rifles, shotguns and handguns - most of all poor charging practices. The secret of success is the charge only what is verifies in writing - and - avoid any "man time" ideas. Hope this helps
