Light White Stone
How come some volcanic stones have white streaks?
I have a trilobite on a stone that is gray/grey volcanic stone '' probably'' with many many white streaks that looks like a lot of lighting bolts but white. I look at trilobites on ebay and other places and just about every trilobite I see has that. I don't know about other ones but mine has silicates.
So the question is:
What causes some stones that have trilobites on them to usually have white streaks?
It is VERY unlikely that your trilobite is embedded within volcanic rock. Whilst the rock may, on first appearance, seem to be a volcanic rock, it is very probably a claystone or a siltstone.
Claystones / siltstones are both fine grained sedimentary rocks that tend not to display bedding structures and therefore give the initial impression of being volcanic. Feel the weight of the rock, does it seem to be light? If it's light it's either sedimentary or a felsic volcanic. Look at the rock under a hand lens / magnifying glass. Can you see any crystal faces shining back at you? If not, it is most likely a sedimentary rock.
White streaks? It is probably parts of the rock which have decomposed to a more powdery form of calcite or kaolin. But why these streaks should be orientated along particular directions, I don't know. If I could see a photo of your rock, I would have a better idea.
