My Leopard Gecko Is Losing Weight and Not Eating. What do i do?
I've had my Leopard Gecko for a couple months now and my uncle had it before me. Recently it hasn't been eating. I'm wondering if it is because I moved him up on a self in my room or because I changed its type of sand. I have him in a 20 gallon tank that has a heating lamp on one side for part of the day and a heating mat underneath its black box where its been staying more than usual. Its tail has been getting thinner and i'm very worried. I feed him about six meal worms ever two weeks, but now he wont eat anything. i have three different power supplements I dust over the worms before I feed them to him. Please help
He is starved and perhaps already impacted. Sand should never be used--no loose substrates for these lizards! Try offering it phoenix or wax worms, crickets. More variety the better. Get rid of the overhead light. They only need a heat mat. They need 3 hides...one on the warm side, one on the cool side, and a moist warm is very important. They need a dish of water and a dish of calcium powder also.
