Landscaping Help?
I have a piece of property that was summarized in two houses. These houses were demolished in around February 2007. Nothing has grown. There is still a house on the property being the subject of use. As for the land on which the two houses before the soil is dry, weeds and crystals broken everywhere. Not to mention that left the concrete porch there. I plan to make a fire / BBQ pit outside. I collected all the broken glass ceramic and pulled most of the weeds .. What should I do to get the grass grows back? I Absolutley no experience? How can I buy the seed? What I do?
If you have a lot of money, you could put down sod and water-water-water until established. But most people do not have that kind of cash, so the use of seeds in place. You may need to ground level, make sure all trash is collected, and then having a bit of dirt in the new towed before putting in the seed. Looking for a good offer, and remember that your community may have resources you can use for free. My town recycles waste garden and converts it into compost, which is available to residents free of charge (for a lot, but not unlimited). Such material would be a perfect topper for your property, excellent for grass seed germination. Choose a mix of seeds suitable for your area (hardiness, sun / shade if applicable) sprinkle the bulk of the hand or with a flat, covered with straw or a thin layer of more dirt / fertilizer, water thoroughly every day for at least two weeks, and you your lawn should see new ones emerge. Keep watering heavily every few days to get the lawn established. Soon you'll be the envy of the neighborhood! A few caveats: the seed is expensive. Make sure you do not use weed and feed or corn gluten meal, trying to get your grass seed to sprout. Try not to walk on your seedlings until the new grass is thick and lush. Any area that is not likely to die of water, so after every day. If you want a garden, plan out and not waste seed there. Water at night so that water is absorbed better, not so much evaporates. patience and hard work will be rewarded. Good luck!
