Choosing Solar Exterior Wall Lights
Why would a home or business owner opt for a solar exterior wall light? Such a question might be based on the earlier reputation of solar fixtures, which had notoriously limited ranges of illumination and battery life. Today, that is all changed and a solar exterior wall light will not only be powerful and long-lasting, but will also come with the same necessary features as any “hard wired” and electrically operated fixture.
What does that mean? Well, today’s solar exterior wall lights will have many options in bulb configuration. If a single source of light is required; that is available, should dual bulbs be needed; that too is an option, and should a floodlight or spotlight be required; there are also many choices for such a feature as well.
The light source on all solar exterior wall lights will be from LED bulbs, which have a brightness equal to any fluorescent bulbs, but with the added bonus of a significantly longer life, and little or no heat creation. This means that they can be used in many ways without any fears of damage to such things as delicate leaves on plants or any concerns for fire hazards.
The majority of exterior solar fixtures will also have a range of sensors available as well, which means that they could be outfitted with onboard timers, dusk to dawn sensors or even motion sensors that can be used for safety and security in the home and business environments. For instance, a homeowner could easily and quickly mount solar powered deck lights in the backyard, and this would only be triggered to turn on and off whenever someone entered the yard.
Of course, like all standard electrical exterior lights, the solar fixtures are available in both a “utility” appearance as well as a decorative style as well. Home and business owners alike can choose from a range of decorator styles, materials, finishes and looks that can be used to accent a home, garden or business’ exterior surroundings.
While it is obvious that the use of solar powered exterior wall lights will save money on electrical usage, it should be noted that they are easily installed by anyone familiar with the use of a screwdriver. This translates to a potential savings of hundreds to thousands of dollars, since there would be no need for a professional electrician to run wiring to the various locations where the lighting fixtures are to be installed.
Choosing a solar exterior wall light to illuminate an outdoor space is a fantastic way to save money, light up tricky or troublesome areas, and all while helping to save the planet!
