Engineering components operation?
Hi everyone!
Can anyone help with the description of operation for the following components and how they are used?
1) Aluminium bolt fitted with a nylock nut
2) A stainless steel self tapping screw with countersunk head
3) copper snap head rivet
4) a domed head, open ended durlumin pop rivet

all of these are used to fasten a couple of things together.
aircraft requires high strength, light weight fasteners that will not unfasten from vibration.
when you can relax some requirements, you can get away with cheaper materials.
1. presumably a mechanic would like to be able to unfasten this
2. great for wood furniture
3. sometimes seen in clothing
4. probably aircraft
