What you Focus on is What you Attract – are you Focusing on the Right Things?
Are you trying to attract success in different areas of your life but it doesn’t seem to be working. One of the mistakes you may be making is focusing on the wrong things. To help explain this let me give you a quote by Robert Francis Kennedy. He once said, ‘We should, I believe, beware of the pitfalls described by Taine: 'Imagine a man who sets out on a voyage equipped with a pair of spectacles that magnify things to an extraordinary degree. A hair on his hand, a spot on the tablecloth, the shifting fold of a coat, all will attract his attention; at this rate, he will not go far, he will spend his day taking six steps and will never get out of his room.' We have to get out of this room.’
Sometimes the reason you can’t seem to ‘get out of the room’ is because you are too focused on everything in the room. Let me explain it in a different way. Suppose you wanted to lose some weight so that you could have a healthier lifestyle. You know that in order to do this there are some things that you will have to do in order to attract this healthier lifestyle. Of course one of these things would be to cut back on or eliminate unhealthy foods. Well, instead of finding out just a few of these unhealthy foods to cut back on, you begin to get so detailed that it almost becomes like a second job to you. You may feel stressed out because you are constantly over-concerned about what you are eating.
Because of the stress of trying to do everything right, you find that you have much more stress in your life than you did before you started watching what you were eating. So you really haven’t actually accomplished anything.
No matter what it is in life that you are trying to attract, don’t get so focused on the little things that you loose sight of the main objective.
