Inch Fire Pit
My neighbor is rehabbing her house and she has encroached on my property. Will this come back to bite me?
Her house abutts perpendicular to my house. Part of her rehab she wrapped around the edge of my house by about an inch. She has agreed to fix a few issues I have that are on the side of my house that faces her, but she wants me to allow the encroachment. If I allow this will I have issues when I go to sell? It will cost me about $1,000 to fix my side wall. I should also note that I had to relocate a dryer vent due to this rehab and my basement flooded when they had an open construction pit. Part of me wants to hold her feet to the fire, but my main concern is resale of my house and how it will be affected if I allow this encroachment. Thanks!
order her to fix it - some towns./counties require a building to be set back many feet from the property line - not just inches - she may not be following regulations - call your local building inspection department/ at least someone in town hall and have an inspector come out - You may already have a lawsuit in your favor for the flooding - call someone in authority immediately before your property is harmed further
