considering trade in of 2006 Tundra 4 door access cab?
intrested in new 2008 tundra double cab. the Tundra grade package with 4.7L is advertising at 19,988 this month. which would put me in best shape for trade in but i wouldnt get the Towing hitch, 7 point trailer lights, prewired for tralier brakes etc. and no Transmission cooler. I can live with out the T/oilcooler but must have the hitch and trailer brakes etc. would it be best to add these items on after the buy or have the dealer install them which would make them wanna jack up the price. my trade value is like 19,000 blue book and my pay off is lil 23,500 any suggestions the good news is the new tundra has 0% financing.

You don't say what the other option costs with the towing hitch, 7 point trailer lights, prewired for tralier brakes et cetra, all the stuff you claim to need.
My guess is that you can do a better deal going after the higher price option and driving a hard bargain. There's more money (profit, dealer set aside, bonus et cetra) in the higher priced deal for the dealer to mess around with than one that is already completely discounted. After dealing hard and they won't budge another penny, (Unless they will show you the ORIGINAL (not a photo copy) dealer receipt for the vehicle's VIN number they would deliver to you to verify the pricing and they will sell it for $200.00 over) offer them $2,500.00 less than their best offer, give them your cell phone number, tell them to call you when they want to make the deal and drive away.
Trucks aren't exactly flying off of the dealers lots right now you know. The guy I know says they have steady sales but that it isn't a hot market and they are not setting any records over last years sales. Deal hard and get what you want. June 30th is the next end of month & end of quarter bonus day, if you can wait until that day to do the deal they have the most incentive to deal liberally that day.
