How do I grill using only wood chunks?
I am going to try grilling without charcoal, using only wood chunks. Should I soak the wood chunks? Do I build a fire in a lighter chimney, the same way I do with charcoal? Is there anything else I need to know? Any special techniques?
You basically need to burn the wood until you only have glowing embers left. How you achieve this is up to you. You might soak them in starter fluid to get them going. Having them in a concentrated pile usually helps them burn better. If the pieces are too small you may end up with nothing left in terms of embers to do any cooking.
