Gas Grill Mesquite

Grilling with wood from 101?
Wood as I grilled some steaks tonight for my wife who loves good grilled steaks. But I'm looking do it with wood instead of charcoal. (Do not like gas or charcoal taste). Do you have to use mesquite charcoal? Can I use a certain type of wood in peace? Any grilling experts out there that can give some good ideas. Thank you for your time!
Get yourself a coal wood chimney, and buy some charcoal wood. This is not the matter square briquettes. Use the instructions to start the coal fire plant, DO NOT use lighter fluid. This type of clean coal burns hot, your steaks only takes 5 minutes on each side, so using wood for cooking makes no sense, unless you are camping. For BBQ'ing wood, there is much to learn. Some woods can give off a very strong flavor, mesquite is one of them. My favorites are the forests of smoking, wooden fruit - peach, apple, apricot. These give a milder flavor then the traditional strong flavor hardwoods. For learn more about the wood flavors make a quick google wood smoking, and get more web sites. As I said, there is much to learn about it. Good luck
