The loft space allows for added storage of seasonal items and or a sleeping area. With more room and character than a yurt, the building beckons onlookers to investigate and welcomes individuals to venture within.
The complete kit comes with everything required to construct a basic weather tight shelter designed to meet tough building codes. The adaptable post and beam frame can be a simple storage shed or an elegant year round residence. The kit supplies a great starting point that can be finished off to any level of desired comfort. Many people have expanded further insulating the interior and adding modern amenities. Electrical, plumbing, heating and internet can be added to make this cabin as comfy as possible. The versatile post and beam construction is a very strong, flexible, fun and easy way to build. It offers anyone looking for a dream space an opportunity to make it a reality.
Hand made in Vermont, from native rough sawn hemlock and pine lumber, the package includes all fastening hardware, metal roofing and step by step plans. Rugged post and beam techniques passed down through the centuries are being applied to pre cut and notch this cabin kit into a sturdy picturesque retreat reminiscent of old New England. Have your own Vermont cabin in the woods in your backyard.
The 16x20 Vermont Cottage will be delivered curbside by common carrier. We reccomend having the kit shipped to a local business like a building supply store. If it is delivered to a residential address, it is recommended to have helpers on hand to unload. Basic carpentry tools are required; the kit is geared to beginner carpentry skills. Technical support is provided via our toll free support line. Cabin kit takes approximately two people forty hours to assemble. Step by step plans are included but may also be purchased separately. The cottage kit in the main picture has been customized to include vintage 1800’s factory salvaged windows, white cedar shingle siding with painted Essex green trim. The picture that best represents the kit is the one with the people sitting on the porch.
